Comments: Facility had a small fire in the charcoal grill at approx 0915 this morning. Health Dept notified at approx 1115 this morning. Made site visit. Head chef was at grill. It caught fire. Chef put two sheet pans on top of grill and doused fire beneath with two quick bursts with liquid chemical fire extinguisher (Fire Dept was not called). Only exposed food was two eggs... which were disposed of. Area was shut down. All utensils, counters, area wiped down and sanitized. Grill will be out of service until outside service inspects grill. Briquets in grill will be discarded and replaced. Cautioned mgmt that when a fire occurs in the food service facility... they need to notify the Health Dept immediately and shut down until we can inspect. | ||
