Comments: Fire in the oven due to plastic containers in the oven. Food and grate from the oven are outside the building, fire was out prior to arrival. Discussed with both Ron Singer V. of Monticello Code Enforcement, and Mike Bastone of the Monticello Fire Department what had happened. Spoke with nutrition site staff and determined that all bags of food ( bread, milk and fruit) that were out had to be discarded due to contamination from a dry chemical fire extinguisher. Approximately 30 home bound meals were affected. One full pan of broccoli spears and one full pan of chicken al king also discarded at the time of inspection. Hood system did not go off, dry chemical is from a hand extinguisher.
